Steven’s Competition

Stevens Competition 1st Prize Winner at Holy Well Glass!
Holy Well Glass are very pleased to announce that staff member Amy Johnson has been awarded 1st Prize as well as The Prize for Craftsmanship Award, in the 2018 Stevens Competition for Architectural Glass Design.
The Annual Prize Giving and Reception took place at Glaziers Hall, London, on Thursday 24th May 2018, where all the competition entries were displayed.
This popular annual competition encourages undergraduates and new artists and craftspeople to develop their skills, encompassing architectural glass design, historic glass conservation, and excellence in craftsmanship. It tasks the entrant with designing a stained glass window for a different and real life situation every year.
For 2018 the brief was to design two windows, each 855mm x 2014mm, for the Dance Studio at Eastbourne College. All entrants were to provide a coloured design on a 1:6 scale, an artistic description, a technical statement, a full scale sample panel 465mm X 465mm, and a budget estimate.
Holy Well Glass staff members Clare Mardall and Sam Peacock also took part in the competition this year.
